ICT Clubs and similar technology initiatives in schools are vital platforms for this transformation. These student-driven clubs foster creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills. These skills align perfectly with Christian values of stewardship, excellence, compassion, and service. Through hands-on projects, learners move beyond passive consumption of technology to become active creators and innovators. They learn to identify real challenges in their communities and develop thoughtful, sustainable solutions that reflect integrity and discipleship.

Why ICT Clubs Matter

Participating in an ICT Club helps learners build confidence, develop a growth mindset, and see technology as a tool for good rather than distraction. We need to ask questions like how does this project serve others and honour God?

Your guidance helps students align projects with the new Ugandan curriculum, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and most importantly Christ-cantered principles such as service, prayerful innovation, and ethical technology use.

Categories of Innovation for the Exhibition

The Edify EdTech Exhibition celebrates diverse expressions of creativity. Schools are encouraged to prepare projects in the following areas:

1. Multimedia Projects: Learners can create educational posters, animated lessons, explainer videos, or school promotion content using tools like Canva, CapCut, or OpenShot. These projects develop storytelling and visual communication skills while producing resources that enhance teaching and learning across subjects.

2. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Using platforms like Micro:bit, Arduino, or MakeCode, students build robots and simple AI-driven solutions. This category promotes logical reasoning, prototyping, and real-world problem-solving.
3. Website Designing: Students can build informative websites using WordPress, HTML/CSS, or Google Sites. These projects teach content organization, design, and web literacy which is ideal for creating school, church, or community platforms.
4. Mobile App Development: With block-based tools like MIT App Inventor or text-based languages like Python, learners design apps that address challenges in education, safety, health, or church ministry.
5. Touch Typing: A foundational skill that boosts efficiency and confidence. Clubs can run fun challenges to improve speed and accuracy, laying a strong base for all other digital work.
6. STEM Projects: Integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through practical inventions that demonstrate innovation and sustainability.

Every project should answer the core question: “How does this technology make Christ-centered education more effective, accessible, engaging, or impactful?”
